Four Day Hands-on Workshop on "Targeted Genome Engineering using

   CRISPR CAS9"     27th to 30th December 2018  @ Coimbatore

About the Workshop:
Targeted Genome Engineering has been described as a “Game Changing Technology”. The powerful gene editing technology known as CRISPR CAS9 has the potential to transform biological science at an astonishingly rapid rate. The technology is a targeted tool used to edit genomes with unparalleled precision, efficiency, and flexibility. We at Wisecorner Laboratories Pvt Ltd are committed to helping you stay ahead and advance your science through education. This workshop will offer guest lectures on genome editing tools and hands-on training (Computational and Wet Lab) to all the participants.

Guest Lectures will brief you about CRISPR-CAS9 Technology and its numerous applications in
health care.

Bioinformatics Hands-on Training will be given on Software tools used for selecting rational
CRISPR/Cas targets from an input sequence, for design of CRISPR guide RNA sequences, for HDR repair Template Design,  for exhaustive genomic searches to identify potential off-target sites for guide strand choice, for analyzing CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing outcomes from sequencing data, for design & analysis of HT CRISPR screens.

Wet Lab Hands-on Training will be given on Bacterial Genome Engineering. This hands-on session
will demonstrate the precision genome editing made by CRISPR CAS9 system. A specific pinpoint
mutation will be made in ribosomal subunit protein rpsL that prevents streptomycin from binding it and
so the bacteria can grow just fine on the media containing the antibiotic streptomycin. The genome of
the E. coli bacteria that is to be engineered contains over 4 million DNA bases in size and CRISPR will
find the single one that needs to be mutated! This mutation will cause an amino acid change in the
ribosomal subunit proteins that are being made.

Two Day Computational Workshop on "R Programming for Genomics Data Analysis"

                                               2nd - 3rd October 2018 @ Chennai

About the Workshop:

R has become the most important scripting language for both experimental and computational biologists. It is well designed, efficient, widely adapted for all modern aspects of data analysis and visualization. Moreover it is free and open source. This workshop will introduces the essential ideas and tools of R required for bioinformatics. As Genomics techniques have become more affordable, the bottleneck has shifted to the analysis of Genomics data. The aim of this Hands-on computational workshop is to train students in R programming for analyzing Genomics Data like NGS, RNA-Seq and DNA Microarray. Participants are advised to bring their own laptops

Two Day Computational Workshop on "Next Generation Sequencing Data Analysis"

21 - 22 September 2018

Next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies have revolutionized Genomic Research. As NGS has become more affordable, the bottleneck has shifted to the analysis of NGS data. Galaxy is one of the most popular open-source platforms for NGS data analysis because it enables many complex computational tools to be accessible to scientists with little bioinformatics and programming capabilities.

This workshop will introduce Galaxy and all of its functionality and also discuss how to use Galaxy to perform some of the more common NGS data analysis tasks, such as Genome Assembly, Variant Analysis and Gene Expression Data by RNA-Seq.

Mass spectrometry (MS) is a key analytical technology in  current proteomics and modern mass spectrometers generate  large amounts of high-quality data that in turn allow Protein  Sequencing and Identification, Annotation of Post  Translational Modifications, and determination of the absolute  or relative abundance of individual proteins. Advances in mass  spectrometry-driven proteomics rely on robust bioinformatics  tools that enable large-scale data analysis.

This workshop will  deal with some of the basic concepts and current approaches to  the analysis of MS and MS/MS data in proteomics. Workshop  will also include hands on sessions on Quantitative Proteomics  Data Analysis tools like Skyline and Trans Proteomic Pipeline  suite of programs.

Guest Lectures will be on “Mass Spectrometry based Proteomics – Tools and Techniques” and “Quantitative / Targeted Proteomics – Tools and Techniques”.
